Use Olive Oil for Healthier Cookies

While we don’t want to say goodbye to those delicious cookies we all enjoy, we do want to make them healthier without it affecting their flavor. One of the easiest ways to make your cookies a little healthier is by replacing the butter with Verde Valley Olive Oil in your favorite cookie recipe.

Not only is a high-quality olive oil a healthier alternative to butter, but it also will produce a better result. Olive oil will keep your cookies moist and give the cookie a lighter, and slightly fruity flavor. Not all baking calls for butter, and Verde Valley Olive Oil can also be used in place of canola or vegetable oil. Olive oil is a much healthier and less processed version of these oils.

When swapping Verde Valley Olive Oil for butter it is not a 1:1 ratio, the rule is three-quarters of butter to olive oil. Meaning, if the recipe calls for a cup of butter, use three-fourths of a cup of Verde Valley Olive Oil. If the recipe calls for melted butter, you would use the 1:1 ratio and it would save you the step of having to melt the butter.

When creating a delicious dessert, the quality of the olive oil matters when substituting it for butter. Verde Valley Olive Oil is heat stable and will add flavor to the dessert. We also have multiple flavors to choose from, so if you want to add a hint of a flavor then that is the best way to do it. If you use a lower-quality olive oil it can degrade the taste of the dessert, making it taste processed or fall apart easily.

Olive oil can make your cookies a little easier. It is a great baking substitute when cooking for vegans or those with dairy allergies. Plus, it makes your cookies healthier and more delicious.
